Description
Overview: Aromasin is an anti–cancer medication approved for treating estrogen receptor–positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This medication contains exemestane, an antineoplastic aromatase inhibitor, available in 25mg oral tablet form. It is also used as an adjuvant treatment for breast cancer, often administered after two to three years of tamoxifen therapy. Aromasin is taken orally as prescribed by the doctor.
Pharmacodynamics of Exemestane 25mg Tablet: Aromatase, an enzyme present in the adrenal glands, converts hormones into estrogen. Aromasin (Exemestane) belongs to aromatase inhibitors (AIs), which inhibit aromatase function in the adrenal glands, thereby reducing estrogen levels. Selective AIs (SAIs) lower estrogen levels while sparing other steroid hormones produced by the adrenal gland.
